Gunac | Waterproofing Specialists is an Access Partners in Property Company. Gunac have over 40 years of waterproofing experience working in both the commercial and residential spheres of the building industry.
We are a family of four brands, making us your favourite one-stop-shop.
As mentioned in topreviews, our teams work on waterproofing projects wherever there is a specified requirement for a guaranteed high-quality waterproofing system. Gunac has become one of the leading Waterproofing Applicators in the region. We work with some New Zealand’s biggest building companies and architects to help them design and specify the correct waterproofing solutions for their projects.

Pieter Botha
Operations Manager
Starting at Access as a project manager was my opportunity to make a difference in the NZ construction industry. 8 months down the line, not the proverbial fishing line, I moved to facilitate and lead the Gunac Team, and what a dynamic team it is.
When I’m not helping the guys deliver the quality work we provide, I’m out in the beautiful Auckland waters fishing the evenings away.
Brad Luck
Waterproofing Project Manager
With over 15 years in the construction and waterproofing industry, I bring a strong mix of technical expertise and leadership to the team. My experience spans residential and commercial projects, giving me a solid understanding of the full project lifecycle – from design and specification to delivery and compliance.
I specialise in waterproofing specifications, ensuring systems are compliant, durable, and tailored for long-term performance. I’m passionate about collaboration, clear communication, and delivering high-quality outcomes that align with GUNAC’s values of integrity, innovation, and excellence.
Doug Matheson
Project / Contracts Manager - Membranes
My background is in project and contract management, with over 30 years of experience in the waterproofing field. I am an author number holder and a licensed building practitioner (LBP). Prior to joining Gunac | Waterproofing Specialists in November last year, I had spent the last 14 years working in a similar role. When I am not working, you will find me riding my mountain bike and staying fit.
Richard Redmond
Estimator
With over 30 years experience in waterproofing under my belt, I am usually the first on the site from the Gunac team.
My data to day comprises of inspecting a range of properties, from residential houses and complexes to large commercial buildings.
In my spare time, you will find me cruising and modifying my motorcycle collection.
