The application of an exterior coating is a surefast solution to weatherproof and protect your building substrate from water ingress. Gunac | Waterproofing Solutions offer this service as part of our Liquid Membrane Waterproofing Solutions.

Our Gunac Waterproofing Specialist teams have successfully completed an Exterior Coating application and spot repairs to this warehouse building in Silversale, Auckland.

PROBLEM:

The client was experiencing water ingress issues on this warehouse roof.

During our inspection, our team noted the block wall on the south face of this building, cracking. The tilt panels also showed signs of significant water ingress.

SOLUTION:

Our team recommended applying an exterior coat using Formwal High Build Coating system. Works involved water blasting this face to prepare the surface for application. This wash was undertaken by our internal Exterior Cleaning and Height Work team.

The coating technicians began applying a 3-coat Formwal system soon after. The team also completed minor repair and maintenance works to the roof. This involved;

Replacing metal sheets
Replacing roof screws
Sealing penetrations such as cap flashings and apron flashings and;
Applying liquid membrane to all rust damaged roof areas.

These works remedied the roof ingress issues and helped increase the lifecycle of the roof, while a full roof replacement was budgeted for.

There is a visible difference to the coating works we have completed. The substrate is now weatherproof and protected for the years to come. The 3-coat application means this work carries a 10 year product warranty.
